Bored at Work? Listen to Music! Hurray for SHOUTCAST!

So i’m at work now actually doing work… ^_^  When i’m doing work i like to listen to music.  I have some headphones and listen to shoutcast streams.  I’ve found 3 streams that i think are really the best IMO. (Right now i’m listening to SomaFM)

SomaFM presents: Indie Pop Rocks!

This is an awesome Indie Pop Rock station.  It plays music like film school,  stars and that sort of stuff

FREQUENCE3 - www.frequence3.fr

This is another awesome Shoutcast Station.  This station got me through my summer at ARM in the UK.  I listened to this station all day long even though a lot of the songs they played were in french but it sounded nice anyways.  When in England do as the French! right?

.977 Hitz Channel

This is the last one i listen to.  This basically plays all the current pop/rock/r&b songs.  So if you want some pop culture this is a good one to listen to.

Yo-Yo Ma was awesome! People coughing aren’t!

So yea Yo-Yo Ma was pretty awesome.  Like i said before i’ve always wanted to see a Yo-Yo Ma performance.  He played a couple more pieces after the ones that the program said he’d play.  The funny thing is after the last piece of the original program a bunch of people started to fly out the doors.  I guess they didn’t want to get stuck in the traffic or something.  After a while Yo-Yo Ma came back though and did an awesome encore.  He played like 4-5 pieces.  It was awesome.  One thing is i wished i sat closer.  The seats were kinda far back so you couldn’t really feel the vibrato that much.  Note to self, get more money and buy better tickets.  But even for seats the performance was great no matter where you sat.  Though i realized i enjoy blasting classical music on my system at home and pumping the bass so the vibrato like shakes my head off.  Maybe cause i used to listen to Drum and Bass a lot and liked it when my head would feel like it would explode.  I guess classical vibrato till my head explodes is a more refined taste in music?! o_O maybe?  though i still like D&B (but i don’t listen to it much).  To end this post i’ll say people that cough suck expect if it’s me coughing.  I mean there was this lady behind me that kept coughing like she had the plague or something.  I know a bunch of people around were pretty annoyed and wished she would just get up and cough it out and get some water outside!

Yo-Yo Ma is the Man!

I’m so hyped that Yo-Yo Ma is coming to michigan. I was able to get tickets to him on Nov 10th. I bought my tickets on the 50% off student sale. I literally kept refreshing the page right before the sale and was able to get them. When i went to pick up the tickets at the michigan league the guy at the ticket place told me i was lucky to get it. They told me that the website was slow to update and a lot of tickets were sold when there were none left. He said there were only a few half price tickets so i was very lucky to get it.

Anyways I got it!!!!! I’m excited because i really like the first piece he is going to play.

This piece is very nice. Every once in a while i listen to the Rostropovich and Britten rendition of this song and it’s amazing. I used to fall asleep to it and also just blast it on my stereo while cooking or working. Just search on Amazon for Rostropovich Britten Shubert and you’ll find the CD. It really is amazing. I know Yo-Yo Ma will perform it extremely well and it’ll be something not to miss. At the same sale i was also able to score a pair of Lang Lang tickets. I haven’t heard him play and the pieces he is playing isn’t out yet but from what i’ve read he is amazing. So i’m also really looking forward to that.

Here are the tickets! :) just posting for the hell of it

I’m A Little Bit Country, I’m A Lot Rock and Roll!

I have no idea why i thought of that title. Oh well. So today i was doing some work and listening to music. My brother suggested me some music the day before because i asked him for some random new music. So i went on a little listening frenzy. I sat on last.fm and listened to a bunch of related artists.

He told me to check out Remi Nicole, Orson, Lily Allen and Bella. Well I did check them out and they were pretty nice, chill music to listen to. So i went on a little frenzy of listening to a bunch of artists related to them.

Some i already listen to and some i found. Here are some of the songs that was listening to. Below are embedded youtubes and also an embedded short clip of feist. Hope you enjoy the music I listen to! Maybe you can also suggest me some music too. (Click the Play button in the video and it will play in the embedded window or it will open a new window for youtube unless you want that)
