This place is a really nice place for a date or a nice dinner. I like going to this place a lot. The ambiance and service is really nice and somewhat modern. I went to this place like 2 times a month at one point in time. They also have an awesome lunch. I love getting the Thai-Style Calamari there. The Calamari is very lightly battered and comes with the best sweet and sour sauce. There hasn’t been a time where i wasn’t pleased by it. Usually other places tempura it and it ends up soggy or too crispy, here it’s just perfect. The spicy tuna cakes are also excellent. The soups are pretty good there. The Tom Yum Goong Soup they have is really nice. Pay attention to their special soups sometimes because they can be really good. Finally to the main dishes. My typical thing when going out with people is to share the dishes in a family like style. Usually share between 2 people. My favorites are the Five-Spice Duck, Japanese-style Sablefish, and the Flash-Seared Hamachi Fillets. Each are different and have very different flavor profiles. The Five-Spice duck comes with Bok-Choy and a mushroom Risotto and a nice Chinese sauce. You won’t regret getting that because the sauce and the duck has a really nice flavor and mixed with the Risotto and Bok-Choy = $$. Don’t be scared to get it how they recommend, rare, because it’s really good rare. The Sablefish is also one of my favorites. It’s marinated with miso on top of rice and noodles and topped with this excellent soy-tamarind sauce. The fish comes out like butter and is super sweet and delicious. Finally the Hamachi has a very nice crisp and refreshing taste to it. The Soy Ginger sauce goes perfect with the seared hamachi and you’ll be begging for seconds after eating it. Finally no dinner would be complete there without their awesome Warm Chocolate Cake. It’s served with coconut ice cream and sake-macerated cherries. The chocolate and coconut just go so well together with that nice little tart taste of the cherries. The Spiced-Caramel Pear is also a good choice. The Mascarpone and spiced pear go together like PB&J. It’s excellent. Just to say the creme brulee they had there wasn’t my cup of tea, maybe it was just me though. On a side note, the Lemongrass beef salad for lunch is awesome.
